What to do when a trade goes wrong

When to open a dispute, what to submit, and what to expect.

Safety · 3 min read

Most delays have an innocent cause, like a slow bank. Start by messaging your trade partner in the order. If that doesn't help, disputes exist for this exact situation.

When to open one

  • You paid and the seller won't release after the time limit.
  • The money that arrived is short, or came from a different name.
  • The other side has stopped responding.

What to submit

A full bank statement or a recording of your banking app beats a screenshot. Show the date, amount, sender and receiver. Don't cancel an order you've already paid for, because this can return the crypto to the seller.
